Frequently asked questions

Good questions.
Straightforward answers.

A little more clarity for your next step.

How does cash flow help me explore a loan?

Cash flow shows how money comes in and goes out over time. Income, recurring bills, rent payments, and what remains can help you understand how a new payment might fit. Lenders may also review credit, income documentation, the property, and their own program requirements.

Is prequalification a loan approval?

No. Prequalification is an initial estimate based on available information. It is not a loan offer, commitment to lend, or final approval. A lender must verify your information and complete its underwriting process.

How is my financial information used?

With your permission, connected-account data helps Riki organize your cash flow and prepare your financial picture. You choose whether to connect accounts and authorize sharing. Learn more on our privacy & security page and in our Privacy Policy.

Is the Riki app available yet?

The app is coming soon. Choose “Start in the app” to join our waiting list for launch updates. Joining does not create a Riki account or submit a loan application.

Does Riki make loans?

Riki helps you understand your finances and explore your next steps. Riki is not a lender and does not make credit decisions. Loan availability, rates, fees, and approval depend on the lender and your circumstances.

Will connecting my bank account affect my credit score?

Connecting an account through Plaid is separate from a credit inquiry. If a later step involves credit information, review that step’s authorization and disclosures before continuing. A lender may require a credit check during its own process.

Can I use my rent history?

Housing payments can add context to your financial picture. Available account history and the way payments appear affect what Riki can identify. This does not automatically report rent to a credit bureau or guarantee lender acceptance. Learn about rent payments.

Who decides what gets shared with a lender?

You do. Before a lender handoff, you must be shown the recipient and information to be included and asked for separate authorization. Joining the waiting list or recording your interest does not send your financial information to a lender.
